Back in 2022, I decided to move back to Wisconsin to start my studies at UW-Milwaukee. During my first year back, I decided to purchase a road bike and start a brand-new hobby. This eventually led to my passion for cycling and all things related to sports. During my first year, I found unfamiliar places around towns that I never visited before, additionally I gained many new friends in a niche community. After the 1st summer passed and the spring of 2023 came, I wanted to start racing at the local criteriums held by varying hosts in Wisconsin. The community and individuals involved with the sport of cycling created such a welcoming environment, that led to my first invite into a local team.

I started riding with the Team “Hollander Benelux Racing,” and started racing in local events such as Kenosha’s “Battle on the Border,” and larger events such as the Tour of Americas’ Dairyland. A large criterium based event with racers coming from all over the world. With speeds exceeding 30 mph on downhill descents, racers from all over the region are excited to race and ride with friends who all love the same sport. Although this blog post is short, I hope to see more riders with the same passion for riding in the area!
